Educational Applications

Educational Applications come in many forms and functions. Examples of educational applications are Flash Based Learning Modules, online courses and tests. We work with our clients to design and develop educational applications that meet their business objectives. Once we have determined the proper scope and context for the project, we will create a solution that works best for the client.

Application development depends highly on the purpose and budget. At Discovery Commons we employ open source tools, develop customized program code, install, configure and customize third party tools or products where appropriate.

When developing a new application, our goal is to create a comprehensive design solution. This requires an understanding of educational, functional and technical requirements. During the development process, we will take into account how the application fits into the existing learning experience, the workflow of existing people, processes and tools that are already in place. As part of the overall solution we will work with the client to flesh out the learning experience while helping manage the changes created by the application. Our team will also assist with communications, training and support.

Pricing:  Estimates can be provided after an initial consultation to determine the breadth and nature of the project. DC standard rate: $75/hour.
