Server Co-location
Our Co-location facilities will provide physical space, power, cooling, security and network connectivity for your server(s). This program is aimed at providing a basic service, primarily for clients who wish to manage their own systems. For each co-located system, a letter of understanding will be created detailing the service levels, responsibilities, costs, and contacts.
- rack space in an air conditioned and locked data centre and the area is under video surveillance.
- 15A/120V AC power (not UPS power)
- 100MB connectivity to the University’s network backbone and an IP address for each device that needs one
- uptime monitoring (ping)
- Backup services (data and/or applications)
- Operating System patching
- Virus Software
- Software upgrades
- Firewall security – initial setup cost of $400 per server. Any future changes to this setup will be billed on a hourly basis at the current hourly rate
- Additional AC Power and UPS requirements
Available To: Administrators
Pricing: Rack space is rented based on the size of the equipment that is placed in the racks. The cost is $250 per 1U of rack space per year or $500 per non-rack mount server. There is no charge for peripherals (UPS, external hard drive), within reason.
