1:00pm–3:00pm
Training Session

Details

The University of Toronto will transition to Quercus (Canvas), the university’s new learning management over the summer of 2018. As of August 31, 2018, the Blackboard-based Portal will no longer be available, including the content contained within the Portal.

General advice is that building from scratch creates the best Quercus course. Some Portal courses are good candidates for export and import directly into Quercus. Specific situations with Portal courses with a lot of resources, or a simple structure, might benefit from a direct migration or be better suited to a strategic export and import from Blackboard to Canvas. General advice is that building from scratch creates the best Quercus course.

Individuals familiar with a course are the best judges of the migration success and this session will help those individuals know what their options are.

This two-hour hands-on session begins with some general advice on strategy and then continues with hands-on work with our facilitators to start your process of migrating content. Computers are provided, but you are welcome to bring a Mac or PC that you are familiar with.

Limited space available.

If you are interested in attending this session please send RSVP to: a.hoy@utoronto.ca noting the session date.
