Quercus (Canvas) has been selected as U of T’s new learning management engine and will replace the Portal (Blackboard) September 2018. Quercus provides online access to course materials and a variety of tools to enhance teaching and learning activities with a clean and easy to navigate interface.

This introductory, two-hour workshop will provide instructors, teaching assistants and course administrators who are new to Quercus with essential information to begin building a Quercus course.

Workshop facilitators will walk-through key features and tools through demos and hands-on activities, and share best practices on how to effectively use these tools when designing Quercus courses. Topics covered include organizing a Quercus course, enrolling course staff, posting content, sending announcements, and communicating with students.
