Discovery Commons performs proactive online vulnerability scanning on websites and web applications that contain confidential and (in particular) protected data (such as personal information, or PI), to ensure that all known vulnerabilities have been addressed, and that all reasonable security controls are in place.

Computerized Exam Booking

Short description

Provide consultation and technical assistance on booking and using the Discovery Commons computer labs for computerized exams.

Computer Labs – Drop-In

Short description

Discovery Commons has Drop-In facilities equipped with laptops and internet access. These rooms are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 5 pm, whenever they are not booked for classes, exams or tests.

Webcasting

Webcasting is the live streaming of an event so that others can watch and listen to it online from a computer. Webcast academic events are also often called webinars.

Webconferencing

Short description

Support for videoconferencing using web-based tools such as Skype or Google Hangouts.

Computer Lab Booking

The Discovery Commons has three computer labs which are equipped with laptops and internet access. These labs can be booked by Staff and Faculty to facilitate classes, special seminars, exams and tests.
