The Discovery Commons Service Desk provides front-line support for and access to almost all the IT services provided by the Faculty of Medicine—and even for some select University IT services.

Staff & Faculty Email (Microsoft Exchange)

Short description

Allows Faculty of Medicine staff and faculty members to safely and securely send and receive work related email, and to manage an electronic calendar.

Student Email (ONE Mail Direct)

Short description

ONE Mail Direct is an email service run by eHealth Ontario designed specifically to allow Ontario health care providers and learners to send personal health information (PHI) securely between registered users. Discovery Commons coordinates the creation of ONE Mail Direct accounts for medical students and residents.

Two-factor Authentication (eToken)

Short description

The eToken is the University of Toronto’s official solution for two-factor authentication (the first factor being the traditional password), replacing the previous SecurID card system. Discovery Commons issues eTokens and installs eToken software for AMS and ROSI account holders in the Faculty of Medicine.
