Remote desktop services disabled

Based on recommendations from the University's Information Security group, we are disabling remote desktop services until further notice.  This is in response to a serious vulnerability found in certain versions of Windows (7 and XP, 2003 Server, 2008 Server) that can use remote desktop services to compromise the computer and possibly affect other computers on the UofT network.  We are working to apply patches to the affected  Windows versions.   For those needing to work remotely, please ensure that you have installed the VPN client on your personal PC or laptop in order to connect to your office computer.  You can find the instructions at  From your home computer, login with your UTORid and follow the on screen instructions once you have successfully installed the VPN software you can now safely RDP to your office computer.

We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.  Further information about this issue can be found here
