When preparing your presentation, consider the following :
Here is a template for use in your MD Program lectures: lecture_presentation_template.pptx (353.85 KB)
Another handy rule of thumb is: no more than 6 lines of text, and no more than 6 words per line.
If you write in complete sentences and paragraphs, the tendency is to simply read off the slide instead of lecturing to the students. At that point, the student has no reason to pay further attention. Keep the points brief and expand around each point during your talk, adding more information. This keeps the students’ attention focused on you.
Teaching via webinar reduces the amount of material you can cover in a lecture.
Disclosure of potential conflict of interest
It is a policy of the MD Program that all lecturers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that they may have with commercial products mentioned in their presentation. The second slide in your presentation must contain any such disclosures. If you do not have any such conflicts to declare, you can download a standard slide from the PowerPoint template here: lecture_presentation_template.pptx (353.85 KB)
